Cell shape simulation
During my Bachelor's thesis and some years after that I was interested in cell simulation. There were previously a lot of models covering various purpose by members of the research group around Doc. Zdeněk Hedrlín. The main idea was to simulate cells using discrete grid and inner behavior of cell captured by a graph. The graph deterministically described reactions to different stimuli (substances) in an inner or outer environment of the cell. My model adds a new feature - it takes into account variable shape of a cell.
The inner physical environment was modeled using compartments (tanks) that enabled flow of inner cell material.
Even thougt, the model is very minimalistic and simple, it can cover even some complex cell behavior. Such an approach is an example of a bottom-up approach (from model to observed world).
Such models can enligthen the intrinsic laws of an examined subject that are not yet observable from the top level.
