Symmetry properties of statistics of lattice paths in ladders

Abstract

We show that certain statistics on lattice paths going from the bottom left corner to the top right corner of a given ladder region are equidistributed. For example, the number of lattice paths with k bottom and l top contacts equals the number of lattice paths in the same region with l bottom and k top contacts.
