Eurocomb'03 - European conference on Combinatorics, Graph Theory and Applications

Prague, September 8 - 12, 2003

Organized jointly by European network COMBSTRU and center DIMATIA.

Scope

The conference follows the format established by
EuroComb '01 in Barcelona (as a blend of a mathematical and computer science meeting):

The program of the meeting will consist of invited lectures and of talks selected on the basis of extended abstracts submitted to the committee. The abstracts of accepted talks will be made available in form of a conference booklet.

Contributions to a special volume of a combinatorial journal will be solicited during the conference.

The topic of the conference is Combinatorics and Graph Theory. It concentrates mainly in the areas of Algebraic, Algorithmic, Geometric and Probabilistic Combinatorics, including their applications to other areas of Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering.

The European Prize in Combinatorics, supported among others by DIMATIA, COMBSTRU and Elsevier will be awarded during the symposium.

Travel instructions

The campus is easily accessible from the airport, railway stations and from the city center.

The expected price of a taxi from the airport is 600 CZK. For groups coming to Prague by plain we recommend to hire airport shuttle CEDAZ, hire of a minivan for 1-4 persons costs 360 CZK and for 4-8 persons it costs 720 CZK. The company has an information desk at the arrival hall of the airport.

A cheaper way is to take bus No. 119 or the airport limousine from the airport to the subway stop Dejvicka (line A - green). Then go by bus No. 107 or 147 to the stop "Zemedelská univerzita", bus ride approx. 15 minutes). All major train stations are located by the subway, so if you come by train, get by subway to Dejvicka and then continue by the above instructions.

There is a single type of ticket for subway, trams, and buses. The tickets must be bought in advance at tobacconists, newsagents and from the slot machines located at the subway stations. On buses and trams you must punch your ticket immediately after getting on. At the metro, the ticket must be punched at the entrance. Once punched, the standard ticket (12 CZK) is valid on the whole Prague city transportation network for 60 minutes (90 minutes on weekends and late evening). For details please consult the posters by the entrance to the metro or at the information desk at the airport.

If you intend come by car then the optimal approach direction is from northwest (from Teplice, passing by the Prague airport), continue on Evropska street to Vitezne namesti = Dejvicka subway stop (a large roundabout), turn north (down the hill) along the bus 107/147 line and continue to Suchdol. (see the map at web) From other directions, find your way to Dejvicka and continue along the above given directions. (From southeast you arrive on D-1 freeway, continue through the city and turn left after crossing the river in direction Letna, and turn right after Hradcanska subway stop - the only subway stop along this way, this way will bring you to Dejvicka from south.) For more information, look at an interactive map of Prague.

Parking

It is possible to park your car either behind the congress center or behind the Faculty of agriculture (see the plan). Both parking lots are guarded, so mail us your licence plate in advance so we can gain you the access there.

Breakfasts, Lunches

Breakfasts for participant accomodated at dormitories are served in the cafeteria from 7:30 am to 8:30 am. The breakfast service starts by September 8 (Mon), so those who come earlier must arrange their own breakfast. Lunches for all participants are served at the same place from 12:00 to 13:30 pm. Vouchers for all meals will be distributed at the registration.
