We consider, in  four examples, the numbers S_n^{+-} = (the number of partitions of [n] with an even size) - (the number of partitions of [n] with an odd size). Three examples deal with  set partitions of various kinds and one example deals with the classical integer partitions. We apply generating functions, involution trick, and an analytic continuation argument.
