Hi everybody,
tomorrow we will have a slightly unusual program. We will not have a live speaker, instead we will watch a lecture on youtube.
After (too long) selection process, I've decided for the following: Gil Kalai -- Noise stability, noise sensitivity and the quantum computer puzzle (plenary talk at this year's International Congress of Mathematicians.
I think it nicely combines combinatorics with computer science (ending with a theoretical argument, why quantum computers are hard/unachievable). Some of you know more about quantum computing than I do, so we can discuss after the talk, whether the argument is convincing or not :-).
The video is about one hour long, so let us start at 10:40 this week.
See you tomorrow (and sorry for the late notice).
